Chukar Cherries was started on the Alexander-Auld Family Orchard. It was the 80’s and the hey-day of family farming. With over 8,000 cherry trees, Chukar Orchards was one of the largest cherry orchards in the state and drying the left over fruit was a natural progression. The sweet dried cherries proved to be a favorite treat of family and friends and Chukar Cherries was launched in 1988.

Time passed and our beloved cherry orchard changed hands with the times. And Chukar Cherries has continued to grow using the fruit produced by a number of small family farmers. Our sweet and tart dried fruit morsels are still customer favorites. And our approach continues to be pretty simple. Use only the finest ingredients. Combine them in delicious and creative ways. Listen to our customer and employees. Grow in a rational manner. And have fun. It’s a recipe we’ve strictly followed, from the first dried cherries developed in our own kitchen to our sumptuous array of gifts and confections, jams and fruit fillings, sweet and savory sauces, fruits and nuts. All 100% natural, of course. One taste and you’ll know that Chukar is synonymous with The Best of Nature, Best of Chocolate®, and Best of the Pacific Northwest.
