Sour Cherry Preserves
A fruit-forward preserve loaded with bits of Montmorency Tart cherries makes a delicious topping for breakfasts and desserts.

- Our preserves contain more fruit than your average jam—it's hard to resist eating them by the spoonful!
- It's rare to find tart cherries (also called "sour" or "pie" cherries) on the fresh market. A tender fruit, they must be used shortly after being picked
- Their intense flavor in preserves or baked goods is unparalleled
- Tart cherries' notoriety derives from their vibrant flavor and inflammation-fighting antioxidants

Best Tasting Sour CherryA treat to share. Sour Cherries in the Eugene Oregon area have become too expensive to make my own to gift.

Fantastic Taste, But Shipping Makes It Too ExpensiveThis sour cherry preserve is unbelievable — probably the best jam I’ve ever tasted. The flavor is rich, authentic, and clearly made with real cherries. The quality is way above anything I can find in a typical supermarket, and I don’t mind paying more for that kind of excellence.
However, the pricing becomes a real problem once shipping is added. The base cost is already about double a comparable supermarket product, but with shipping, the total ends up nearly triple. At that point, it just isn’t practical to buy regularly, no matter how good it tastes.
If the company can figure out a way to lower the shipping cost, I would gladly keep buying this. But until then, sadly, I won’t be able to order again.Dear Jack, I am so sorry about the costs—and we understand. Thank you for taking your valuable time to write a straightforward explanation of your buying experience. We greatly appreciate it. Customers like you have made our business thrive over the years, and we hate to lose you. Rest assured, Chukar charges only what we must to cover our expenses and keep operating. If it helps: One strategy used by customers to ‘reduce’ delivery costs is to buy multiple items at the same time—paying the shipping cost once but spreading it over more than one product, effectively lowering the delivery cost per item. Warm Regards & Cherry Cheers, Pam Montgomery, Founder Chukar CherriesPosted on
